Malyabati Math

From the diary of one of Thakur's Devotee: Vrindavan - 21 September 2019

"Here at Thakur’s Malyabati ashram had a chance to meet Sita MA.....approx 85-86 years old. As a child she would love eating sweets, and got married in an affluent zamindar family. She met Thakur when she was 12 years old, soon after demise of her husband . Thakur asked the little child what does she want ?  And this little girl asked for God’s vision . She stayed in His shelter since than . In this abode meant for widows, she  currently stays all alone, difficult to walk ,  long power cuts, but in her words life is full of Bliss . Thakur Sitaramdas takes care of her all the time and has blessed her with Bhagwan darshan  and other several anubhtis . When inquired about meals. (as she could barely walk) she mentioned Lord has arranged for two chapatis and sabzee twice a day for her . She still loves to eat mithai, entire conversation was only on Spirituality. Even on inquiring 20-30 odd times she didn’t ask for anything . She managed to move to the next room with great difficulty and gave us mithai as parsad before we left and asked us to come again to visit her."

Life is a serious challenge for single women or widows, who were entirely dependent on their husbands or the family for any financial need. A sudden blow of ill-fate and their life turns upside down. The ancient Indian texts did not wish that the widows were abandoned, they empowered them. Rigveda says:

―Rise woman, (and go) to the world of living beings. Come, this man near whom thou sleepest is lifeless: thou hast enjoyed this state of being the wife of thy husband, the suitor who took thee by the hand.

With the intent of making them rise and providing a dignified way of living, our visionary master, Thakur Sitaramdas Omkarnath had dedicated one ashram in Vrindavan, named Malyabati Math, to the welfare of such underprivileged women.

With time, due to the wear and tear, this aging structure is in a very compromising state and requires immediate attention. We request you to please come forward, donate and re-establish the spirit of this noble cause.
